Hyundai

Hyundai pianos were distributed by the same Hyundai Corporation we know as a distributor of automobiles.  Based out of South Korea, Hyundai pianos were made by the Samick Piano Company and most of them bear a strong resemblance to pianos with the Samick name on them.  Differences in size are the main distinguishing feature.

One of the most notable feature of Hyundai pianos (and Samick) is that they are made with a three-ply laminated spruce soundboard, which consists of an inner core of solid spruce and two thin outer veneers of spruce.  This soundboard is said to be resistant to cracking and therefore is backed by Samick with a lifetime warranty.
Samick is one of the world’s largest piano manufacturers!  Since they built a new factory in Indonesia in the 1990s, they have continued to grow. They remain larger than their nearest competitor, Young Chang.  Today, Samick also makes pianos with the names; Kohler &  Campbell, Conover Cable, and Bernhard Steiner.
